Margaux and Keven - Wandering Artists
Sand Mountain, Nevada | August 26, 2023
The World is huge yet somehow small, a few months ago I was connected with Margaux and Kevin through Instagram. These two wonderful humans have been traveling the world as fire performers, photographers and creating magical art focused on connection and romance with a hint of mysterious darkness. As a Scorpio myself, that meant that our styles were very much in alignment.
While on their travels, Margaux and Keven were passing through Reno from Canada to attend Burning Man and we set our date to shoot far far far in advance and the day had finally come. Together we collaborated on our inspirations of tango, fire spinning, international travels and Burning Man. We set out for Fallon, Nevada for a shoot at Sand Mountain. A location I had kept seeing dreamy photos of but never had the opportunity to explore. Together, we set out for our adventure an hour and a half outside of Reno using that time to share stories, laugh and get to know one another.
Having mutual friends and discussing travels it had felt like we had known each other for a lifetime. As we arrived, the collaboration began and we used Margaux's beautiful collection of clothing, headdress and jewelry, and Keven showed me his fire breathing. We married the ideas of dance, fire and sensuality into the sunset, and the result is a beautiful set of works reminiscent of going on vacation in Egypt. We focused on capturing the motion and movement on stills and the results are absolutely breathtaking.
There are far too many of these photos to share, but highlight the many here. Thank you Margaux and Keven for the wonderful evening spent together. I look forward to hearing about your stories at the Burn and I am more than sure our paths will connect again.
