Kate & Austin - Cave Rock Engagement

When Kate and Austin reached out to me, they told me how special Tahoe was to them. The many romantic getaways, hikes and beauty that pulls us all to the lake. Most people know Tahoe has a call that must be answered. The mountains, the water, the wilderness all mixed into one.
If you haven't had the chance to experience a Cave Rock sunset, it's truly a low effort, high reward Tahoe must do. The quarter mile hike and mini scramble to the top sets you up to overlook the whole basin and soak in every last moment of sun.
I felt so honored that these two took a day trip out to see me from their home in Oakland. Though we had just met, I appreciated their willingness to be “down for anything” and with that, I gave them the local's experience.
What stuck out most about these two is you can tell it really is about the adventure along the way. They wanted to make sure I captured the lake, that we had plenty of laughs along the way and they were open to my sometimes silly and interesting pose ideas. As a photographer I truly cherish the deep connections experienced between people and hope that everyone has the opportunity to feel open and safe while exploring this big vast world.
