Capturing the Essence of the Wild West: Our Western Bridal Editorial in Moevir Magazine

I had the incredible opportunity to see one of my most cherished projects featured in Moevir Magazine: a western bridal editorial shoot set against the breathtaking backdrop of Park City. This shoot was not just about capturing stunning images but about weaving a narrative that resonates with the rugged beauty and creative spirit of the high desert. Collaborating with some of the most talented individuals in the local Utah industry, we crafted a visual story that speaks to the heart of editorial and creative bridal photography.

As an art director and photographer, I find immense joy in assembling a team of visionary artists who bring their unique talents to the table. For this particular shoot, Monet Jones of Mo and Co Floral and I co-designed and planned every detail of this shoot (I’ve said it once, I’ll say it a million more times, Monet is SO talented and I am SO thankful to know her). Our inspiration drew from the serene yet untamed beauty of Park City’s dry high desert, aiming to blend the natural landscape with a touch of whimsical romance.

Monet’s contribution was nothing short of magical. She handpicked native flowers (weeds) from the side of the road, crafting arrangements that embodied a rustic, warm aesthetic resembling tumbleweeds. Her ability to see beauty in the wild and incorporate it into her floral designs added an authentic touch that elevated the entire shoot. The flowers, placed together on-site, harmonized perfectly with the natural surroundings, creating a seamless integration of nature and bridal elegance.

Our hair and makeup artist, Kiki West, brought a joyful and playful air to the set. Her expert skills and infectious enthusiasm made the shoot a delightful experience. Kiki’s talent for enhancing natural beauty while adding a touch of glamour ensured that our model April looked her absolute best, complementing the overall theme of the shoot with a glow and a cat eye that could cut glass.

Model April Huang’s presence was the final piece of our creative puzzle. Her confidence and creativity in posing brought our vision to life, adding a layer of authenticity and emotion to the images. April’s ability to connect with the camera and convey a story through her expressions made her an invaluable part of our team.

Tenth Muse House provided a selection of their exquisite gowns, each one chosen to perfectly match the editorial’s aesthetic. The dresses added a sense of sophistication and timeless elegance, tying the entire look together. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality ensured that our model looked stunning in every shot.

This shoot was a celebration of collaboration, creativity, and the beauty of the natural world. It was an honor to work alongside such talented professionals, each bringing their passion and expertise to the project. The resulting images, featured in Moevir magazine, are a testament to what can be achieved when a team comes together with a shared vision.

For potential clients in Park City and Salt Lake City who seek an editorial and creative style for their bridal or event photography, this shoot serves as a glimpse into the kind of artistic and meticulously planned projects I am passionate about. Whether it’s the wild charm of a high desert landscape or the elegance of a well-coordinated team effort, I am dedicated to capturing moments that are both beautiful and meaningful.
